Optional GBS Feature
(Global Power Boost, Stand-by & Remote Alarm Feature)
Available on
uTC-15a, uATC-15a Control Modules and All Main Frames

NOTE : This optional feature requires factory modifications to temperature control modules and main frame circuitry. While the main frame can be retrofitted, temperature control modules can NOT be modified.

The Optional GBS feature includes the following :

Remote Alarm Feature

  1. A central main frame audible alarm is installed to enhance the alarms on individual module.
  2. An alarm ON/OFF switch is located on the right hand side of the main frame face plate below the circuit breaker.
  3. An externally mounted jack (1Z-FC) on the main frame enables the user to connect a remote alarm to the system.

Global Stand-By Feature

  1. The Global Stand-By feature allows you to conveniently reduce hot runner temperatures when you wish to take the unit out of service for a period of time, such as weekend or holiday etc.
  2. Our Global Stand-By feature allows you to conveniently and collectively switch all heater zones in the system to a stand-by mode of 212° F.
  3. The Stand-By "ON/OFF" switch is located on lower left side of main frame face plate below the circuit breaker.
  4. To activate the Global Stand-By feature, push the "ON" side of "ON/OFF" stand-by switch.
  5. To return to normal molding operation, turn "OFF" the Global Stand-By switch. Each temperature control module will automatically return to its previous set point temperature.

Global Power Boost Feature

Global Power Boost allows you to boost / increase the temperature of every zone in one easy step, by a predetermined amount for a selectable time period.

Note : Accidental activation of Global Power Boost sequence can cause damage and/or production interruptions. To avoid temperature increase due to accidental activation of the power boost sequence, set the timer switch to "0".

To Activate the Global Power Boost :

  1. Select the desired Power Boost temperature on each temperature control module. This is done through Option Menu. Press "SEL OPTS" key until the "bSt" code appears in the upper window. The lower window will indicate the current Power Boost temperature setting. The Power Boost setting is adjustable from 0° F to 100° F above the set point temperature. Refer "Selectable Features" section of uTC-15a or  uATC-15 Operating Instructions.
  2. Each mold hot runner zone can be set to its own individual Power Boost temperature. Since molds and runner systems vary depending on the job requirement, this feature allows the user to obtain the highest degree of efficiency and productivity possible.
  3. The timer switch is located directly below the circuit breaker on the main frame face plate. The timer switch sets the Global Power Boost time for the entire system. The timer switch has ten positions "0" to "9". The "0" setting is OFF, positions "1" through "9" progress in 30 seconds increments from 30 seconds to 4-1/2  minutes.

  4. To activate the Global Power Boost, set the timer switch to the desired setting, then press the button immediately to the right of the timer switch.
  5. To indicate that the Global Power Boost is active, a "RED" LED next to the button will illuminate.
  6. To cancel the Global Power Boost cycle while in progress, push the Boost Button or return the timer switch to the 0 setting.
  7. When the Global Power Boost has completed its cycle, each temperature control module will automatically return to its original set point temperature.

Note : The amount of time it takes for each zone to return to its original set point temperature will vary depending on the amount of mass involved. It is important that after completion of a Global Power Boost cycle, the timer switch be returned to the "0" setting to  prevent accidental reactivation of the cycle.
